About Mapperley Park
The older part of Mapperley, dating from the late 19th century, is Mapperley Park, one of Nottingham’s most prestigious residential locations, located just north of the city centre
Situated on the north eastern edge of the city of Nottingham boundary, this area boasts a fusion of properties. From Victorian and Edwardian villas, some of which have been divided into flats and modern apartments, through to stunning period homes, set along attractive tree-lined avenues. Its boundaries are Mapperley Road (South), Mansfield Road (West), Private Road (North) and Woodborough Road (East). Mapperley Park is located within the greater boundary of Mapperley.
The area offers families a location close to the centre of Nottingham within a peaceful hideaway and remains a desirable place to live, as its status as a Conservation Area has been confirmed.
Mapperley Park benefits from many nearby amenities including the promenade of independent shops on Mansfield Road, a wide choice including restaurants and bars in nearby Sherwood and the ‘Mapperley Top’, shopping parade, home to a range of independent retailers and also larger retailers including a Co-op supermarket and Sainsbury’s Local.
There are two private tennis clubs. Mapperley Park Tennis Club on Mapperley Hall Drive has four all weather courts, two with floodlights, a practice wall and modern clubhouse. One of the oldest tennis clubs in the city is Magdala Tennis Club which has 3 all-weather “carpet” courts and 2 hard courts
The B684 (Woodborough Road) provides convenient access to the city centre and Nottingham City Transport’s Sky Blue route provides access to surrounding areas and the city. Wider Mapperley also boasts its own golf course.
